Travelling to Zimbabwe with a guitar.

As I’m writing this I’m doing last minute packing to leave on a plane for the beautiful country of Zimbabwe in Southern Africa! It’s an 11 hour flight to Johannesburg and then another 2 hours back the other way to Bulawayo airport. I’m staying with my girlfriend Kimber’s family for 2 weeks and so it is promising to be an amazing experience with a lot of downtime to relax and hopefully play quite a bit of guitar!

Over the past 2 weeks i’ve been debating what guitar to take, as I have several, almost throwaway guitars, that I could could have taken. The problem with them being that I’m a bit of a guitar snob in the sense that I wasn’t relishing the prospect of making do with a bad guitar for 2 weeks!

Luckily I spoke to insurance company Allianz and I’ve managed to get a pretty amazing deal on year round worldwide insurance, without an excess payment(!!!) for only £47 per annum for my Taylor 310CE. Pretty happy with that then!

So while I’m out there I’m hoping to take lots of photos and also get my girlfriend to film me playing a few finger-style pieces for this here blog/my youtube channel, so look out for them!

Anyway, here’s to a successful trip, and to taking your guitar wherever you go!
